How To Preach it || Gospel Open Air Preaching
The Value of Street Preaching: A.W. Tozer … Hailing from a tiny farming community in western La Jose, Pennsylvania, his conversion was as a teenager in Akron, Ohio. While on his way home from work at a tire company, he overheard a street preacher say: “If you don’t know how to be saved… just call on God.” Upon returning home, he climbed into the attic and heeded the preacher’s advice.
It’s amazing that He Overheard a street preacher…. you have no idea how many people hear you when you are preaching and will be the fruit of your voice.
My Son Max Understands His Call: For those of you who don’t know us, Danae and I make a practice of handing out Gospel tracts wherever we go. Max has watched us evangelize ever since he was 3 years old and now he has felt the burden for souls that we have modelled for him, his understanding of the gospel is taking root in his 5 year old frame through the amazing grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Generally speaking Danae and I will give tracts out as we go through the drive-thru, grocery check out, or after we have had a brief conversation with people. Not Max, he gets in the mall, pulls out his tracts and heads for the first person he sees. Many times though he will be looking at someone and all of a sudden say, “Mommy and Daddy! That lady needs a gospel tract”, then he’ll proceed to walk right up to her and give her a tract. The other day Danae went with the kids to the swimming pool and as soon as he got in there he wanted to hand out tracts. Danae told him that he should try and have a conversation with people first so that they will receive it better. Max never really has a conversation with strangers at all, simply because he usually has about a million other things going through his head, but he took her advice and as soon as they got into the elevator he jumped right into a conversation with some strangers. He chatted with them the whole ride down and at the bottom before they got out he handed the mom and her little boy a gospel message. Just hearing Danae tell the story stirred my heart so much, to see this little boy who has as many hang ups as any kid his age, loving people that much that he’s willing to engage in a conversation in order to give perfect strangers the eternally altering message of the gospel. I hold on to the eternal hope that God will draw and save all my children for His glory and fame, and that Max would be a faithful servant for the rest of his life.
My First Time Open Air Preaching: This video was shot at 3rd street promenade in Santa Monica and it was the first time I had ever done any open air preaching. If it hadn’t been for Tony Miano from Living Waters (LivingWaters.com) / Way of the Master, I would still most likely be a car preacher. You know, the kind of person who can preach up a storm from the safety of their vehicle. Tony told me it was time I stepped out of the car and stepped up on the box. Was I nervous? Of course I was, following Jesus’ call to preach the Gospel is always a scary thing, but that’s when we can boast in our weakness and His strength which gives God the Glory. We can know that without His grace we would never have the ability to carry out the commission.
Speaking of the Great Commission, in our modern day North American pop culture I think we can pretty much call it the “Great Omission”. Jesus calls us to preach the Gospel everywhere to all people, yet most of the church is so busy with church programs and their own life plans that the call to preach the Gospel pretty much gets ignored all together.
If you’re like I was, you know that you are supposed to obey the call of Christ to preach the Gospel, but you just don’t know how. I hope that this video will somehow be a tool in helping stir you up so that you go from resisting to enlisting.
As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

Thank God for the Word, His promise and for the Holy Spirit.
My husband and I have been talking about the ‘christian walk, way of life, person’. So many things have become accepted as ‘the way’ to live and its not even biblical. We are continually wanting to reach more people for Christ and have that need to do that.
Why don’t we see more street preaching? Why have we chosen to leave that out of our walk with Christ? Its not an option or if you’re chosen type of thing. That has convicted me. I just want to say it at the top of my lungs but….! I am reminded that my weakness is made strong in Him.
I am always encouraged when I read y’alls posts and watch other people street preach. God bless!
amen!
Thanks Teresa. Lord bless you!

Agreed… we christians have fallen asleep. The secular, hedonistic, materialistic, relativistic world… has done all it can to destroy the soul of mankind…
Christians must stand up, must preach their Faith but must live their Faith too..
only in this way are we credible witnesses of Our Lord. The broken world we live in is desperate because it has turned its back on our Creator — Only God can fill our hearts, only God can make all of us completely happy. We need to return to prayer, fasting, and yes bearing witness to Christ who died for each one of us — on a Cross ..
and it was the most horrendous death possible but even worse The Son of God who never could and never did commit sin felt His Father had abandoned Him and called out My God, My God, why have You forsaken me– Jesus felt the Father had left Him..
….. we cannot understand the agony of the Son of God .. but in the next moment He said
..’into Your Hands I comment my Spirit’ —
He trusted the Father even though He no longer ‘saw’ or ‘felt’ His presence.
We all need to do the same – God never leaves us — we leave Him..
Wake Up America, Wake up Canada, Wake up the UK – being torn apart
by the secular world also…
Christians must arise from their slumber — they have been in too long !!!
Mary, your message was a joy to read. Praise God that He is stirring people up for His name sake. Our hope and prayer is to see many people come to this realization and to true genuine salvation. Lord bless you as you preach the gospel.
Grace & Peace,
