To Judge or Not to Judge?

Judge Not, Lest You be Judged We hear it all too often “Judge Not, lest you be Judged”, well let’s compare all scripture together and see how it fits. 1 Corinthians 5:11-13 But now I am writing to you not to associate with anyone who bears the name of BROTHER if he is guilty of sexual immorality or greed, or is an idolater, reviler, drunkard, or swindler—not even to eat with such a one. Good Tree, Bad Tree

No Good Tree Bears Bad Fruit – Luke 6:43-45 Opening Thoughts: Can you imagine seeing totally dead tree and on it’s branches was the most amazing fruit? It’s impossible. What about if you were on a journey and were desperately hungry, in front of you a ways ahead you could see an orchard filled with big green fruit trees, you were so excited to sink your teeth into some nourishing, refreshing fruit, but as you approached them you realized there was no fruit on these trees. Is Social Justice the Gospel?

There are two separate subjects I want to address in this text. The first dealing with Social Justice and the Gospel, and the second dealing with healing itself. Luke 5:16-26 On one of those days, as he was teaching, Pharisees and teachers of the law were sitting there, who had come from every village of Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem. Who’s Desire’s do You Have?

Today’s study was awesome, as some of you know I’m going through the book of Luke, love this book. I think one of the biggest things that hit me in this book so far, has been the demonstration of what the Holy Spirit does when He invades our lives. Someone who claims to be in the Spirit should look, act and think about everything in a different way than the world does! Luke 4:14-15 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and a report about him went out through all the surrounding country. And He taught in their synagogues, being glorified by all. What is the fruit of your lips?

What is your favorite thing to talk about? That one topic that when it comes up you light up and could talk for hours…. I read this passage in Matthew 12 tonight and it produced two effects in my heart: It added to my fear of the Lord and it caused me to examine the fruit of my lips; the things I talk about the most and what I am most passionate about. I am thankful that the gospel remains my favorite topic, but I noticed some rotten fruit that needed pruning as well. Careless words flow easily when we couldn’t care less, so we must take care to speak words that reflect the Word and the Inspiration of the Word if that is truly what is in our heart.
