To Judge or Not to Judge?

1 corinthians 5-11-13

Judge Not, Lest You be Judged

We hear it all too often “Judge Not, lest you be Judged”, well let’s compare all scripture together and see how it fits.

1 Corinthians 5:11-13
But now I am writing to you not to associate with anyone who bears the name of BROTHER if he is guilty of sexual immorality or greed, or is an idolater, reviler, drunkard, or swindler—not even to eat with such a one. For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Is it not those inside the church whom you are to judge? God judges those outside. “Purge the evil person from among you.”

Observations:

  1. “I wonder how many people we would have left in our churches TODAY?
  2. Is this not a command? If so why don’t we practice it?
  3. Test yourself … Sexual Immoral? Lust? Fantasy? Wondering Eyes? Fornication, Cheating? Porn? …. Or GREEDY, consumed by your job, your desire to get ahead, your willingness to put others out in order to get ahead? …. Or, Idolater? Created a God in your mind that that is passive about your sin, which is worshiping a god that really doesn’t exist, not putting God first in your life “I don’t have time to read my BIBLE!! But I have time for my TV, Paper, investment reports etc.  ….. Or Drunkard? You over-drink, you are careless about your liberty to drink and cause others who are much weaker in their faith to fall and give into drunkenness. ….. Or, you’re a Swindler? You rip people off? You cheat on your taxes, you cheat the system, and you overcharge people …..

If you fall into anyone of those categories, this passage says that you should be thrown out of the church? Why? Because as a professing believer you are blind to the reality that you’re clearly not regenerated, and purging such a person from the church will cause them to be destroyed by the devil in their thoughts and minds until they come to Christ with a repentant, humble attitude in which they will call on the name of the Lord with Fear and Trembling and be truly regenerated.

There is a great need to clean the church of false converts in order t that the Fear of the Lord be restored to our sloppy love saturated culture. We often hear it said that we should not judge, and that is true “WE ARE NOT TO JUDGE THE WORLD” it’s so funny that those are usually the first people we tend to judge.

We say stuff like “I can’t believe that Hollywood is making such filth” Well, they aren’t born again, What can we expect?
The real question should be,” if you are a professing Christian what are you doing watching the filth??

The reason we have so many false converts in the church is because about 100 years ago we adapted a love saturated message that is void of God’s Law. When we use God’s law as a means to show people their guilt before a Holy God, they are filled with horror at their sin and the deserving penalty of Hell, then almost simultaneously they are filled with an urgency to flee to the foot of the Blood Stained Cross and seek refuge from a God that takes their crimes very serious. He takes them so serious that He BUSTED His only Son wide open, He crushed Him and it pleased Him! He will not tolerate Phony Christianity. Either you belong to Him and He has exchanged your evil heart with a heart that obeys Him or you still have an evil heart that longs for the things of this world inside you.

I hope that through this post you will be shocked into discovering the truth about your current state of Salvation. There was a time when I was, and I am eternally grateful for that day!

Jesus Knows What Is in Man – John 2:23-25

Now when he was in Jerusalem at the Passover Feast, MANY BELIEVED in his name when they saw the signs that he was doing. BUT JESUS on his part DID NOT ENTRUST HIMSELF to them, because he knew all people and needed no one to bear witness about man, for he himself knew what was in man.

I Never Knew You – Matthew 7:21-23
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I NEVER KNEW YOU; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.
