Happy Easter!

2 corinthians 5-17

Opening Thoughts: Here’s our first blog post, Danae and I are launching into some things we feel God is calling us to. Writing daily Blogs on our devotions is one of them. We trust that God will speak to you through the words we say. I do not know where you stand with Christ, so I decided to write this note and pray that the right people read it and are blown away by God’s irresistible grace! To God be the glory!

Who Is Jesus: Jesus is everything for you, or He is nothing for you. He wasn’t just some good teacher, or a good example, He’s not a quick fix for your messed-up marriage, or a lottery ticket for your financial trouble, or just some medical potion to cure your disease!

He is the Christ, The Savoir, The LIVING GOD… Who died once and for all! He put to death the POWER of sin. To free us from it’s bondage, If you have any desire to seek Him it is not your own doing, It’s God’s grace and mercy on you ..

Romans 3:10-11 “as it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; NO ONE SEEKS FOR GOD.”

…. So if you are seeking God it’s not YOU that is seeking, It’s God who is drawing you..

John 6:44 “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me DRAWS him. And I will raise him up on the last day.”

…… Today is the day of Salvation, do not take conviction and a desire to repent for granted, God is patient for your sake.

2. Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.”

…. His Promise, is that He will come back and judge the earth and with that destroy all wickedness into everlasting fire.

Revelation 21:1 “And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.”

……. Who’s name is not written in the Book Then

Revelation 21:8 “But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the SEXUALLY IMMORAL, sorcerers, idolaters, and ALL LIARS, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”

…. Maybe you think, well that’s awesome, I’m not any of those things! Think again.

1 John 1:10 “If we say we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.”

… and the scripture also tells us that “God is true and every man a liar” so we cannot avoid this, aside from putting your faith in Christ Jesus your name is not in the Book of Life.

Since we now know that no one seeks God (on their own) and that all who seek are drawn in by God to Christ, we ought to be very humbled if God is drawing us, and respond to His call today!

Isaiah 55:6 “Seek the LORD while he may be found; call upon him while he is near;”

….. This prophetic word was given 700 years before Christ and was calling all those that could never seek God in their own will to seek Him when He is near. In other words when God has drawn you to Him and revealed to you how sinful you are, and your eyes have been opened to His saving power, then seek Him while He may be found.

2 Corinthians 6:2 “For he says, “In a favorable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”

…. If you are seeking God today, know this, that you cannot do that on your own, be very humbled that He is drawing you to Christ and REPENT of your SIN and TRUST the Savior to redeem you and save you!

If you trust in Jesus today, He will put His Holy Spirit in you and you will have power over sin.

Do not take for granted that you grew up in a Christian home to just assume that you are a Christian.

Maybe you prayed a prayer and thought that made you a Christian.

Maybe you have been rejecting Christ and using so called professing Christians as an excuse to reject God, because the way they lived looked nothing different than anything else you have ever seen in the world. You can now stop using that excuse because in 1 John 2:6 it’s clear that anyone professing to be a Christian will walk just like Jesus.

1 John 2:6 “whoever says he abides in Him ought to walk in the same way in which He walked.”

1 John 3:4 “Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.”

Jesus Came for one thing, and that was to destroy the works of the devil which is sin. So if you repent of your sin and put your faith is Jesus Christ you will be saved and the evidence of that salvation is a new Spirit and a new life.

2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”

Christ Jesus is Risen! Today is the day of Salvation. Trust in His saving power today. Repent and believe and you will be saved! Happy Easter
