God Plans

God doesn’t just know, He Plans – Matthew 26:20-15 God only knows? Have you ever used the phrase, “God knows”, in reference to a difficult or uncertain situation? I know that, for us anyway, we’ve said it a lot. When we’ve been in car accidents, or when something tragic happens to someone we know, or even if it’s something minor like locking our keys in the car we have often shrugged and said, “Well, God knows. He’ll take care of it.” There is nothing wrong on the surface with a statement like this, it’s just incomplete. Several months ago we decided to change our go to phrase from “God knows” to “God plans”. Of course God knows what is going on in our lives, but it doesn’t catch him off guard and it’s not a mess he has to clean up. God doesn’t just know, he plans, and he does […]

Teach Us How to Pray – The Lord’s Prayer

The Disciples Prayer (a.k.a.) The Lord’s Prayer Opening Thoughts: You know when a topic is so huge that you just know you can’t do it justice. I’m going to attempt to unpack something that is so massive that I tremble as I write. I’m not a Bible scholar, nor do I profess to be, however I believe God gives all who truly possess His Spirit and who seek Him the wisdom and ability to decipher the Scriptures. So as I am writing this I’m totally depending on His Spirit because I DO NOT want to be wrong about it. Praying as I type actually. The Catholics: Have you ever heard the term “Say 10 Hail Mary’s and 10 Our Father’s”? I simply cringe when I hear terms like this when used as some type of expression or penance for sin. I was in a church about a year and a […]

Operation 180 Movie – 180movie.com School Distribution

180Movie.com Turning Pro-Choice People in Pro-Life Believers. UPDATE October 26, 2011: ************************ On behalf of Ray Comfort and the rest of the Living Waters team, thank you! Yesterday’s “Project: 180” effort went exceptionally well.  While some of our teams did face considerable opposition from school administrators, security, and police (with four members of one team being cited for trespassing), by and large the opposition was light. Teams spent anywhere from 30 minutes to 11 hours on their respective campuses.  Talk about a “don’t quit!” spirit and perseverance!  I could be more proud and honored to serve alongside each of you.  Thank you! The testimonies we are receiving from you, as well as emails we are receiving from college students around the country, indicates that your efforts are making and will continue to make an impact not only on the various campuses, but in the lives of students as well. We […]

The Invitation Is Not Salvation

What is the Good Portion? – Luke 10:38-42 Opening Thoughts: Have you ever invited someone over to your home for a meal and when the day came you felt totally unprepared? The result of the evening was that you spent the majority of the time fussing over the event and little to no time actually sitting down to have meaningful conversation with your guests. I wonder if your guests would’ve rather had a nice visit with you instead of seeing you as a waitress? My prayer is that today’s discussion in Luke 10 will cause many of you to closely examine your lives and start to see what Jesus views as valuable service. Prepare to be changed. Luke 10:38-42 ESV .. Now as they went on their way, Jesus entered a village. And a woman named Martha welcomed him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who […]

Wasted on Jesus

Matthew 26:6-13 “And the things of the earth will grow strangely dim…” When you become a follower of Jesus everything in your life becomes about the eternal. Possessions lose their luster in your sight, media of the world becomes bland in comparison with the Bible, vacations and holidays are enjoyable and nice but don’t even come close to the place you know that Jesus is preparing for you. Granted, we occasionally lose sight of these truths when we become distracted by life’s trials, but a true follower always regains his footing on the straight and narrow towards the beautiful before all is lost. “Whether fine or stormy…” Recently I started reading The Little Pilgrim’s Progress by Helen L. Taylor to my 5 year old son. I am amazed at how the story can hold his attention (he is a very active 5 year old boy), it’s always “one more chapter […]

People You Can’t Stand

Jesus places the people you can’t stand at the front of your neighbor list! Opening Thoughts: I want you to be totally honest with yourself on this question. Have you ever hated someone? Or maybe hate would be too strong of a word. So maybe you have strongly disliked someone even to the point that when someone else is talking about that person it makes you feel upset and uncomfortable? I’ve been there, and I’ve had to repent and ask God to flood my heart with grace many times. The Jews felt this way about the Samaritans. Below is some interesting information that will paint a picture for you as to why the Jews strongly disliked (hated) them. INFO: Through Samaria was the usual route taken by travelers from Judea to Galilee, though strict Jews, in order to avoid defilement, could bypass Samaria by opting for a longer route that […]

180Movie.com Appreciates Your Help

Picture of my baby, “Kate Audrey Martin” born Yesterday. Opening Thoughts: As I reflect over the events of the past week and a half since the launch of 180 Movie, I cannot help but see the powerful hand of God at work through this project. My job with this amazing pro-life movie is to oversee and manage the social media reach. This has been both tasking and rewarding, a job I could never have accomplished without all of your help and efforts. In the past 10 days the 180 YouTube video has been shared 130,000 times on Facebook alone. I have been blown away by the random people who have come up to me after seeing that I had the 180 Facebook page open, and say, “Someone shared that movie with me on Facebook and I loved it, and have now shared it with all my friends!”  Praise the Lord […]

Worship Without Justice is NOISE! 180Movie.com – 180 Movie

Opening Thoughts: Well it’s Sunday and there will many people who believe on the name of the Lord in church buildings today. They will worship, praise and likely talk a bit after church, then go out for lunch or home for a feast. This is a quick challenge to all people who profess to follow Christ to not only worship in the building but also carry your worship to Facebook, Twitter, Blogs and the streets… 180 Movie is a timely gift from God that is throwing a HUGE stick in the spokes of the pro-choice movement. If we say we follow Jesus it is not only our mandate to share the GOSPEL, but also to stop the shedding of innocent blood.  After seeing that almost 100,000 people have shared the 180 YouTube movie on Facebook in the past 5 days, resulting in over 400,000 YouTube views and thousands of lives […]
